Field Engineer - Construction Surveyor

The Field Engineer is responsible for the site layout of projects, completing line and grade set up, and collaborates with the Superintendent and Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Generates Requests for Information to clarify design drawings
  • Computes small projects with no supervision
  • Reads job plans and collects relevant data
  • Produces accurate and precise calculations
  • Understands and manages document control
  • Operates instruments used in construction layout
  • Completes duties for large projects following all SOP's with limited supervision
  • Works with Engineering Layout Technician to generate all computations and as-built drawings
  • Assists, trains and guides Field Engineer team
  • Performs manual and non-manual labor in a construction environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Must be able to perform manual labor and work in a construction environment
  • 5-7 years of construction layout experience (preferred)
  • Proven experience with all instruments used in layout
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project computation
  • Building layout experience preferred
